Barry M silk collection

From left to right
1)Mist
2)Truffle
3)Blossom

I was extremely excited when I popped into my local Superdrug store the other day and found these new Barry M ''Silk collection'' nail varnishes as silky nails are my all time favourite and Barry M Is just Barry M need I say more.

These polishes have become my summer go-to nail varnishes as they are such lovely pastel colours what are just so summer suitable. The polish is basically what it says on the tin as when they are fully dry the polish is a lovely silky smooth texture that doesn't chip or smudge at all.The only thing I would say about this polish is that it requires more than one coat as it paints on in quite thin layers but it dry's very quickly so isn't too time consuming and makes the polish last longer anyway.

I hope you liked this post! what's your summer go-to nail polish?

P.s-My blog has a very cute new layout (If I do say so myself;) Due to the lovely Kira re-designing it for me! You can find her blog here: http://kirabassett.blogspot.co.uk/

Essence:French Manicure

I love French manicures to death but unfortunately due to work and my hate for false nails I can never usually have one. As of this I was super excited when I spotted the new Essence makeup counter in Wilkinson's the other day and found these products which were perfect for creating my own French manicure at home. Now considering I was only looking for a cheap and temporary alternative for a French manicure im very impressed with these little products. The Gel look top coat make, feel and look like a professional, Glossy, gel coat over my nails and prevent chipping. I will definitely be using it a lot just normally over my coloured nail varnishes to make them last longer and look glossier. Secondly I got the Tip painter in natural white. Now this really wont be for everyone as it requires a lot of patience and a steady hand but I really liked using it as it gave me a really professional tip which was a very nice white which didn't look too artificial like the bright white would have. The brush was incredibly thin and pointed which made applying the colour to the tip easy which also gave me a very neat nail.I also spotted tip guides at the makeup counter which will make painting the tips a lot easier, quicker and neater but I was feeling brave and did my nails without.

Blue and Silver glittery nails

Now almost every other day I change the nail varnish I am wearing whether it is to match an outfit better or to simply mix things up a bit. I have decided to do a post on the current nail varnish that I am wearing as I am simply in love with it!. I am wearing blue nail varnish on 4 of my nails and a silver nail varnish with silver sparkles on 1 nail on each hand just to jazz it up a little.

The nail varnishes from left
1)Academy of colour nail varnish
This is a clear nail varnish with lots of silver glitter and sparkles mixed in.The reason that this nail varnish doesn't have a name is because it was part of an academy of colour nail varnish trio that I picked up in Morrison's at Christmas time for £2.00.I wasn't expecting much from this nail varnish if I am honest but I was thoroughly surprised and happy with the result as it only took one coat in order to get a glitter effect and did not smudge at all!.Hooray!.
2) Maybelline Colour show by colorama nail varnish in Watery Waste 107
I originally bought this nail varnish for my prom but never actually ended up using it so I thought I would give it a pop. The varnish itself is very thin so I had to apply 2 coats but it did dry quite quickly though. The varnish dried into a shiny silver which reflects light well like any metallic metal colour should. I am very impressed with the combination of the silver and silver glitter as it really does look lovely and compliments my blue nail varnish nicely.
3) Barry M Cyan Blue 294
I am a massive fan of Barry M nail varnishes as are many of you so was very happy when this nail varnish did not disappoint. I usually wear this polish as a basecoat under a glittery blue nail effects varnish so really wanted to try it by itself. I only had to apply one coat of this varnish as it is quite quick but not too thick. My only concern with this varnish is that it takes about 5 minutes to completely dry so you have to have patience when using it as you don't want to risk it smudging which it does quite easily at first. After the nail varnish has dried it is a very strong coat which fails to chip (I have been wearing it for 7 days, woo) and feels like a smooth gel varnish. I also love the colour as it is quite a bright blue but not so bright that it looks tacky.
I hope you have liked this post and maybe my nails!
Have you been wearing any nail varnishes recently?

Beauty store Haul

Now recently I have been a little bit obsessed with buying new little Pieces of makeup to try and do different looks with so I thought that I would share some of my recent purchases thtat i got from boots and superdrug with you. Also i just can't walk past 3 for 2 offers on makeup as I am very much addicted to bargains and offers.

Let's start with boots
1)Natural collection nailvarnishes-These nailvarnishes are my favourite nailvarnishes ever as they are such lovely colours and look very glossy and pretty when on.I bought them in oyster pink and robin red (cutest names ever).

2)I also bought a brown natural collection eyeshadow.I bought this as I thought it would look really lovely blended in with a cream eyeshadow. The name of the eyeshadow is asteroid.

The natural collection products were 3 for 2 which made buying makeup even more tempting.I also love these products as they are fragrance free so are kinder to my skin.

3)I also bought a pink lipstick from collection.I was so pleased to have found this as it is a natural pink so blends in well with my lips but you can also tell you are wearing lipstick which I like.I really am in love with this lipstick which lasting colour vintage rose.

Superdrug purchases
1)I got a superdrug own brand eyeshadow brush.I really like this brush as it is just the right size brush and is really soft and blends in my eyeshadows really nicely.

2)The last piece I bought was a miss sporty so perfect stay coverstay.I have been wearing this concealer for two years now and I really love it as it covers up my skin on bad skin days so well!.It also lasts really long.

October Favourites

It's the end of the month which evidently only means one thing,Favourite posts,Yippe!.So here are my four favourite products which I am in love with this month which I hope you may like too.

1)Chloe perfume-I was recently looking for a new perfume to make me feel renewed and I love this perfume because not only do I love the smell it lasts a long time and smells very feminine.I actually love it when I walk past people and I can smell the perfume they are wearing so it was important that my perfume had this effect too for me.I have the 90ml and it's such good value for money because it is very strong smelling so little needs to be used at a time,It shall last me a lifetime!.The strong smelling floral smell lasts a very long time on my clothes (which is handy if you have to sit next to someone smelly on the bus;).

2)Natural collection nailvarnishes-Recently I have been spending lots of money on cheap nailvarnishes purely because I am now allowed to wear it in my new further education.I have loved being able to do this as I love painting my nails and I think it adds a lovely finishing touch to an outfit. The nailvarnishes are cheap at £1.99 each but are very good quality as I only need two coats which is the average but the shine is very lovely on the nails along with the colour.I bought the nailvarnishes in champagne and Topaz.

3)Redcurrant puffs-I just simply had to add a food favourite!.Every time I shop in marks and spencers I find myself cramming as many of these biscuit packets as I can into the basket.Usually I am not a sweet person and much prefer savoury but puff pastry and sweet jam makes this biscuit pure heaven for me!.Redcurrant puffs are golden puff pastry biscuits with Redcurrant jam fillings.

I hope you have liked this post or some of the products I have shared with you.

Happy halloween!

Sweet Smelling Summer Polish

I currently have this colour Nailvarnish on my nails and I love it!.It is a rimmel London lasting finish polish and the one in the photo is 025 strawberry fizz. With just one coat of this it is a candy pink colour but with 3 coats it becomes a hot pink colour.I have been wearing it for 4 days and it has not smudged or chipped at all which I am very pleased with. The best thing about this nailvarnish is that it smells like strawberries!.I think it's great that it smells like strawberries because some nail varnishes smell really strong and horrible and give me a headache. The bottle of nail varnish only cost £2.99 which is a bargain.
