First Impressions:Max Factor Colour adapt foundation

Hello Everyone!
So I thought I would try a bit of a different post today and do a first impressions post talking about the newest foundation I have added to my daily makeup routine which is Max factors ''Colour adapt-Skin tone adapting make up foundation''.

As its coming up to the dreaded season that is winter I decided to swap my trusty and reliable BB cream for a foundation to give me more coverage for the cold and wet winter days that are approaching. This is actually only the 2nd foundation that I have owned so I asked the Lady at the max factor counter what foundation she would recommend for someone who wanted light coverage and had oily skin and she recommended this one.

After wearing this foundation every day for the last month I am thoroughly impressed and will definitely be re-purchasing this again throughout this season.I'm not completely sure whether the actual colour adapt aspect of this foundation works but I do know that the shade I have (which is Warm Almond) Is the perfect and exact shade for my skin which is so great as no-one likes a foundation that isn't your skin colour.I'm also very pleased with the coverage itself as I use it to give me a low coverage (But it can easily be built up by simply using more foundation) but it gives me a thorough  enough coverage to cover any spots, dark circles and red patches I may have on my face and leaves a natural flawless look when applied which is great as another pet hate of mine is cakey foundation. Also I have very oily skin (But never really gets spots which is kinda weird but hey ho) but when wearing this foundation my skin barely gets oily at all and if it does then it doesn't smudge or run at all, woohoo!.

Overall I think this foundation does the perfect job for me and is everything that I look for in a foundation so I would strongly recommend it.

What foundations are you wearing this Autumn/Winter?

Rimmel London-Apocalips

Hello everyone and welcome to my latest make-up OBSESSION-Rimmel London Apocalips Lip-gloss!.

.Literally, until discovering these lip glosses I have completely avoided wearing lip-glosses as I just hate the sticky and oily feel they leave (Especially with my long hair that goes everywhere, there is nothing more annoying then getting lip gloss in it). With my hate for lip-glosses aside I had seen great reviews about these and I really wanted a bold red lip so decided to pick these two shades up as a bet and sure did it become lucky! Luckily for me these glosses dry matte so no horrible sticky/oily feel or texture, woohoo!.Also as these glosses dry matte and are quite distinct and bold shades they last hours and don't smudge which I love as again nothing annoys me more than constantly having to re-apply lip-gloss!.

So Its official I have now fallen back in love with Lip glosses thanks to Rimmel Apocalips!.

Shade:Big Bang

Shade:Nude Eclipse

Swatches of the glosses.

Thank you for reading, Hope you liked this post!.

Are there any Matte lip-glosses you would recommend for me to try?:-)

Elf Pallette

Hello Everyone!

So today I thought I would show you my favourite autumn eye shadow palette full of lovely warm and neutral shades perfect for a cold and crisp autumn morning. The actual palette is only like £4.00 from what I remember and for that price the quality of the eye shadows really are outstanding. The eye shadows themselves are lovely and varied shades which are shimmery or matte. After my experience of wearing a few of these shades I would honestly recommend these eye shadows so much as they are so pigmented and the colours last all day.

Some more in detail photos of the palette:

Mini Poundland Beauty Haul

I bet your thinking ''poundland'' and ''Beauty'' in the same sentence, what?.Don't worry I was just as surprised as you.

So the story starts when I was in poundland the other day looking at the beauty section and discovered that they sell branded products like ''Rimmel'' ''Nivea'' and ''L'Oreal'' products.I'm pretty sure that all of the branded products that they do sell are discontinued lines which means I will only be able to purchase these products as one offs but for £1.00 I am sure not complaining. I honestly cant tell you how excited I was to buy these products at just  £1.00 each like omg.

From Left to Right from the photo

The products I bought:

1) Lipsations shimmer chapstick in Berry
Its a lovely lip moisturiser which has a slight glitter shimmer too it.

2) Rimmel London Apocalips lip lacquer in red
I honestly cant tell you how happy I am that I managed to snap this up for a pound. It is a very bold red lipgloss which actually dries to be of a matte lipstick texture which means it lasts for hours which is great as nothing annoys me more than constantly having to re-apply my lipgloss/stick.

3)Rimmel London Scandal eyes eye shadow paint  in 006 Rich Russet
I am also equally in love with this little find. Liquid eye shadow is my go to eye makeup when I want to make a real effort with my makeup as im just not very good at doing/blending powder eye shadow properly and liquid goes on so easily and lasts all throughout the day/or evening. I choose to buy this eye shadow in the medium brown ''Rich Russet'' shade as it's a great eye shadow to wear for a natural look and looks lovely when blended with a light cream eye shadow in the crease.

4)Nivea Pearly shine Lip balm
I have been loving this lip balm for a real while. Its a lovely light pink shimmery balm which looks great to wear when you want a more natural look on your lips.

Hope you liked this post!

Sleek 3 blushes Palette:Review and swatches

Hello everyone! So last week when I was in Superdrug I told myself that I didn't need any more makeup but then I saw this little sleek gem and caved in.I mean look how cute the packaging is alone?!.After struggling to pick which shade of  ''Blush by 3'' Palettes I wanted I decided on ''Pink lemonade'' as it has a nice range of light/medium pinks which are great for natural makeup looks and can also easily be built up to create a more dramatic cheek look.

Usually I only wear high-end blushers (My favourite being sugar bomb by Benefit) So I really was shocked by how good the quality of these blushes are considering ''Sleek'' is a drugstore/cheap makeup brand. The 1st and 3rd blush (as shown from left to right above) are powder blushes and very pigmented and give a lovely pink shimmery tone to the cheeks. The 1st powder blush is a very light pink so is perfect to wear for a natural look to make your face look healthy and glow. The 3rd blush shade is a peachy pink so looks good when blended in with a shimmery bronzer to help your face look more tanned. The middle so second blush is a cream blush and is a dark pink shade. It is a very strong colour so a little bit really does go a long way when blended properly. The cream blush dries to be very matte and is perfect for a more dramatic makeup look.

Duty free purchases

So on my way back from Spain my flight was delayed which 'unfortunately'' meant I had to spend an hour looking around the beauty and fragrance section of duty free at the airport to use upvtime which led to these lovely purchases.

My buys from left to right
1)The body shop-Japanese Cherry Blossom Fragrance mist
Its a lovely sweet and light floral scent which is perfect to spray on during hot summer days for a refresh.

2-O.P.I-Nail lacquer in Italian Love Affair
I have been in love with O.P.I nail varnishes for a very long time now as they paint so smoothly on the nails, don't smudge and don't chip for a very long time. So I couldn't just walk past these could I? so I got a light pink varnish as I wear this colour so much.

3-MAC-Lipstick in capricious
I cant even tell you in words how much I am in love with this lipstick and Mac lipsticks in general. The dark pink colour suits me very well and is so suitable to wear everyday which means I get so much use out of it.Also I have found the lipsticks themselves are of a very high quality as not only the colours are nice they last a very long time on the lips so I don't have to constantly worry about re-applying it every hour or so.Also the lipsticks are very moisturising which means it glides onto my lips smoother and also leaves them feeling very soft.

I hope you liked seeing my little purchases, I very much enjoyed buying them! (My bank balance probably doesn't though;)

Have you bought any beauty/fragrance purchases whilst on holiday recently?

Barry M silk collection

From left to right
1)Mist
2)Truffle
3)Blossom

I was extremely excited when I popped into my local Superdrug store the other day and found these new Barry M ''Silk collection'' nail varnishes as silky nails are my all time favourite and Barry M Is just Barry M need I say more.

These polishes have become my summer go-to nail varnishes as they are such lovely pastel colours what are just so summer suitable. The polish is basically what it says on the tin as when they are fully dry the polish is a lovely silky smooth texture that doesn't chip or smudge at all.The only thing I would say about this polish is that it requires more than one coat as it paints on in quite thin layers but it dry's very quickly so isn't too time consuming and makes the polish last longer anyway.

I hope you liked this post! what's your summer go-to nail polish?

P.s-My blog has a very cute new layout (If I do say so myself;) Due to the lovely Kira re-designing it for me! You can find her blog here: http://kirabassett.blogspot.co.uk/

The everyday eye duo

I love seeing posts about peoples everyday makeup so I thought I would show you  the makeup that I wear on my eyes daily.

These products are the 'High drama intense liquid eyeliner'' from seventeen and in the shade ''Blackest black' 'I have tried various different eyeliners from felt tips to crayons but I feel that this liquid eyeliner gives me the straightest and neatest liner and also it lasts all day which is rare as most liners I have used crack or smudge throughout the day but this liner doesn't budge at all which is great.

The second and last product I use on my eyes daily is the ''2000 Calorie curved brush volume & curl Mascara'' By Max factor in the shade Black. I love this mascara so much as it gives me very volumised lashes which aren't lumpy which is good. Also since I started to use this mascara I have had lots of compliments about how brilliant my eye makeup looks which is always a bonus!.

Essence:French Manicure

I love French manicures to death but unfortunately due to work and my hate for false nails I can never usually have one. As of this I was super excited when I spotted the new Essence makeup counter in Wilkinson's the other day and found these products which were perfect for creating my own French manicure at home. Now considering I was only looking for a cheap and temporary alternative for a French manicure im very impressed with these little products. The Gel look top coat make, feel and look like a professional, Glossy, gel coat over my nails and prevent chipping. I will definitely be using it a lot just normally over my coloured nail varnishes to make them last longer and look glossier. Secondly I got the Tip painter in natural white. Now this really wont be for everyone as it requires a lot of patience and a steady hand but I really liked using it as it gave me a really professional tip which was a very nice white which didn't look too artificial like the bright white would have. The brush was incredibly thin and pointed which made applying the colour to the tip easy which also gave me a very neat nail.I also spotted tip guides at the makeup counter which will make painting the tips a lot easier, quicker and neater but I was feeling brave and did my nails without.

Thanks for reading,Hope you liked it :)

Benefit Sugarbomb Blusher review

The other day I was in Oxford street and happened to pop into John Lewis (the store haha). So obviously I couldn't just walk past the makeup counters? I mean they were practically calling my name!.I went straight up to the benefit makeup counter and knew exactly what I wanted,a blusher!.

There was about 5 different blushers available though so the lovely male makeup assistant helped me to decide by showing me how they turn out on the skin and the effect each one is supposed to give. After a lot of debates in my head I settled for the "sugar bomb" blusher as it is aimed at giving a natural blush and it has been voted ''The uk's no1 blusher'' im not sure by who, what or where but its cool by me.

I was so excitied to try this out when I got home and I was not at all disappointed!.I have quite tanned olive skin so the blusher really gives me a glow and helps to enhance my tan more naturally than a  bronzer and turns out a lovely peachey pink colour on the skin when you blend all four colour together. It is very pigminted and glittery (but not so much I look like a peach disco ball) so it gives a lovely glow effect and lasts hours so I don't have to keep reapplying inbetween lessons, horray!.

I would fully recommend buying this blusher but the only advice that I would give is that the brush that it comes with is not very effective and does not give a good coverage which disappointed me at first but then I used my real techniques blush brush and trust me these products are a dream team!.Also the blush is easier to put on with a layer of moisturiser or foundation as it stays put easier and for longer. Also as I am quite tanned I have to put quite a lot of it on so you can notice it but that is the same for all blushers so im not complaining.

I also really love the packaging as it is really pretty and the box makes it easier to carry around eg in a handbag and protects it from chipping or breaking up.Also I love the little mirror inside the box as if you don't have time to look in a proper mirror to redo your makeup you can just redo it wherever you are.

Although this blusher is very pricey at £23 it is worth the money and I will most definately be repurchasing this blusher in the future!

I hope this review has possibly helped!

Have you bought any good blushers recently?

Now recently I have been a little bit obsessed with buying new little Pieces of makeup to try and do different looks with so I thought that I would share some of my recent purchases thtat i got from boots and superdrug with you. Also i just can't walk past 3 for 2 offers on makeup as I am very much addicted to bargains and offers.

Let's start with boots
1)Natural collection nailvarnishes-These nailvarnishes are my favourite nailvarnishes ever as they are such lovely colours and look very glossy and pretty when on.I bought them in oyster pink and robin red (cutest names ever).

3)I also bought a pink lipstick from collection.I was so pleased to have found this as it is a natural pink so blends in well with my lips but you can also tell you are wearing lipstick which I like.I really am in love with this lipstick which lasting colour vintage rose.

Superdrug purchases
